DOOM BASTARD - fuzz & booster

209.00 Sold out

Doom bastard is a dual pedal designed in collaboration with Paweł Mioduchowski of Dopelord band. We based his signature model on pair of stompboxes intensively used before to create his monstrous, fuzzed-out tone - Eau Claire Thunder by Dwarfcraft Devices and a Rangemaster style booster. We tweaked both circuits for even heavier sounds, so any caveman riff shall now carry the power of ancient stones.

Fuzz part has it's origins in Sovtek versions of BMP, with monumental tone qualities of these, yet providing higher gain and more aggressive sonic experience with great punch and cut. 'PRE' control is a handy addition to the classic 3-knob arrangement - it sets input gain of the fuzz, what helps to temper hot signals and extend versatility, especially when stacking with other gain pedals (e.g. included booster).

Boost part provides classic treble booster response with extra depth and grind. That's a fabulous choice to drive other dirt pedals or amps to heavy distortion, as it brings a favourable harmonics content instead of just a volume increase. It's equipped with silicon transistor and with range knob plus internal gain control it can be set anywhere from clean to dirty and from treble boost to full fat boost.

CONTROLS:

VOLUME - fuzz output level

TONE - classic BMP style fuzz tone control
PRE - input level of fuzz, turn CCW to reduce amount of of distortion
BURN- standard fuzz/sustain control
RANGE - bass control of booster (fully CCW represents classic treble boost response, turn CW to increase low-end)
KILL - output level of booster

INTERNAL CONTROLS:
BOOST GAIN trimpot - sets transistor operation from clean to dirty (note that increasing range knob also may introduce transistor clipping - it is possible to reduce this effect by turning trimpot CCW to the lower gain setting)

BOOST MODE selector - separate mode for standalone use, slave mode for 'channel' operation activated when 'FUZZ' footswitch is on

This pedal has lower input impedance than most BMP style pedals, so it works best with no buffer in front of it.

No battery operation possible with this pedal. Use a quality, isolated 9V DC negative center power supply.
